Chris O'Dowd and Dawn O'Porter jetting to Ireland next month to introduce baby Art to family
Irish actor Chris O'Dowd is planning a trip home with wife Dawn and their newborn son Art next month.
The 35-year-old Roscommon native, who shot to fame in 2011 film Bridesmaids, welcomed his first child into the world earlier this month, with with his wife of two and a half years.
The couple are currently based in LA for his work, but will be temporarily moving to the UK next month while Chris films Miss Peregrine's Home of Peculiar Children with Samuel L. Jackson.
And he told the Irish Daily Star this they will be making a trip to Roscommon to introduce Art to his extended Irish family.
"We are going back in a month or so, so that Art can meet the family," he told the paper. "Because we are going home so soon we are waiting to see the Irish folk when we go over."
The Moone Boy star also spoke of the emotional labour process, saying that bringing Art home has been a "very natural" experience.
"He is an absolute sweetheart, but I could deal with less of my stuff being covered in s***. You instantly become 80% less precious about your clothes when you have a child," he joked.
"I found initially in those moments right after the birth, which was really dramatic and scary, my initial concern was that Dawn is okay."
