Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow still act 'like best friends' despite split
The former couple was married for ten years and share eight-year-old son Moses and ten-year-old daughter Apple. They announced they were "consciously uncoupling" in March of this year. Since then they have reportedly worked hard to stay on good terms and have repeatedly been seen together. Chris even attended Gwyneth’s 42nd birthday party at the actress’s home in California over the weekend.
The pair “were very friendly to each other. It was like they’re still best friends,” a source told Page Six.
The Coldplay frontman is said to have arrived early at the birthday bash.
The rocker is thought to be dating Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence. The two are reportedly growing closer with rumours circulating last week that the 37-year-old performer was even thinking about introducing JLaw to his children.
“Chris has fallen hard for Jen, and they are having a lot of fun together,” a source previously told Radar Online.
“It’s happened very fast, and it’s extremely intense. Apple and Moses haven’t met their dad’s girlfriend, yet. Chris hasn’t been discussing the relationship with Gwyneth, out of respect.”
In August a source told Radar Online the 24-year-old Academy Award-winning actress may be accompanying Chris on his upcoming concert tour.
Meanwhile, Gwyneth is rumoured to be dating Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk and it is claimed that the Oscar winning actress’s close relationship with her ex-husband may be causing tension.
"This conscious uncoupling might be great for Gwyneth and Chris' relationship but it's not doing them any favours when it comes to their individual love lives," a purported Hollywood insider revealed to British magazine Grazia.
"Brad cares about Gwyneth a lot, but it's really difficult for him playing second fiddle to Chris."
