Carolers, caterers and chihuahuas: Pregnant Cheryl plans elaborate Christmas at home with boyfriend Liam Payne
Cheryl and Liam Payne are reportedly keen to make the most out of their first Christmas as expectant parents.
The couple, who have been dating since last December, are expecting their first child, and are said to be planning an elaborate holiday season together.
Last December, the Fight For This Love singer (33) had just split with ex-husband Jean Bernard Fernandez Versini and finished months of mentoring contestants on The X Factor.
"Last year was utterly miserable for her. She was so tired after The X Factor and sad because of her split from JB that she just spent most of it in bed watching tv," an insider told heat magazine.
But this year is set to be a happier one for the loved-up couple as Cheryl prepares to host the Paynes at her home.
"She's just glad to be able to enjoy this special first Christmas with Liam," the source added.
"Liam's mum offered to do the cooking, but Cheryl has insisted on getting in caterers to help so that Karen's not trapped in the kitchen all day.
"Cheryl's family from Newcastle won't be there for the big day, they're coming to visit for a few days before Christmas so she'll put on a big dinner and do all the gifts for her nieces and nephews."
The One Director star (23) is hosting an equally elaborate bash in the run up to Christmas Day at his home with carolers and gifts for his other half's two chihuahuas Buster and Coco.
The Girls Aloud star recently gushed about how happy she is in her love life.
In an nterview with Fabulous magazine, the star admitted that having overcome "difficult stages" in her life has made her stronger.
"I am happier than I’ve ever been before. Now is a very good time in my life" she said.
"I learned to be less apologetic and not to give a s*** about what people say. I think you just focus on what is right for you and you learn to trust your own instincts and follow them."
"I’ve been through difficult stages and you never know what’s going to hit you in life. You just don’t have a clue. But I’d tell myself, 'You will get through things.' You do. You just get through it and you keep going."
She was previously married to English footballer Ashley Cole from 2006 to 2010.
