Popstar Britney Spears has revealed that she has “reached out” to troubled actress Amanda Bynes.

The 32-year-old singer has offered her support to Amanda who claims to be homeless following her release from rehab.

Reports during the week alleged that Amanda does not have access to her $5.7m fortune and is only receiving money through $50 and $100 gift cards from her parents.

She claims that she cannot even afford a hotel room and has had to crash at friends' homes.

Britney has expressed her concern for the 28-year-old following weeks of worrying behaviour, such as reportedly shoplifting in New York.

“She has written a very poignant letter to Amanda, telling her how closely she identifies with her and assuring her that she too can turn her life around,” a source told The Sunday World.

“Brit has also promised Amanda that she is welcome to stay with her any time, so long as she completes her recovery, remains sober and follows the advice and treatment doctors have prescribed.”

In 2007 it was reported Britney overdosed on amphetamines shortly before she was taken to hospital where she was placed under psychiatric hold.
