Bono and daughter Jordan Hewson join The Obamas for upscale dinner in New York
Bono made it a family affair as he brought his daughter Jordan Hewson for an exclusive lunch with former US President Barack Obama and his wife and Michelle.
The U2 frontman (56) and his 27-year-old daughter, who launched technology firm Speakable last year, joined the Obamas for dinner at chic Italian eatery Upland in New York City.
U2 have a long-standing relationship with the Obamas as they previously performed at his presidential inauguration in 2009 in Washington DC, and their reunion was well-documented by dozens of fellow diners over the weekend.
The Obamas, who were joined by their Secret Service detail, were greeted with cheers and a standing ovation from diners, while one woman asked to shake the former president's hand on his arrival (he obliged).
In keeping with their post-White House wardrobes, Obama opted for a grey suit and crisp white shirt, while the former first lady went for a complementary look.
Meanwhile, Bono's wife of 35 years Ali Hewson has been in Dublin in recent weeks and on the same day as the much-publicised meal, she attended Liz and Noel's Chernobyl Lunch at the Mansion House, an event which she attends every year.
