Blake Lively makes surprise pregnancy announcement at premiere with husband Ryan Reynolds

Lively and Reynolds arrived hand-in-hand to the world premiere of his Pokemon Detective Pikachu film in New York last night where Blake cradled her growing baby bump. The Gossip Girl star (31), famed for her personal style, has always gone the extra mile with her maternity wardrobe and continued with this trend in a yellow sequin Retrofête dress, accessorising with a Judith Leiber clutch, and colourful Lorraine Schwartz jewels, wearing her hair in her natural curls.

The couple, who wed in a secret 2012 ceremony, are already parents to James (four) and Ines (two) and have been vocal about their desires to have a big family. They have set up camp in Bedford, New York and their daughters have only been pictured publicly once while Reynolds received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016, a strategy in keeping with their own privacy-first approach to celebrity.

The 42-year-old actor previously said that in order to keep their family together, they have agreed never to shoot a film at the same time and they will move their family to the necessary location in order to stay together, which is what they did when Blake was filming the Rhythm Section around Ireland last year and they rented a luxury property in Dalkey, south county Dublin.

“Blake and I don’t do movies at the same time. If she is doing a movie in Thailand and I am doing a movie in Vancouver we would just never see each other. We operate as a unit, and that works really well for us,” he said.

"The kids stay with us, and the family stays together, and that is where home is. So if we are in Spain or Utah or New York, as long as we are together, we’re home.”

In 2016, Lively joked that she and Ryan are "officially breeders" as they both come from large families and want to give their children the same experience, with an emphasis on the normal , non-Hollywood side of their upbringing.

"Ryan had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had. We don't ever want to rob them of what we had, because we'd feel really selfish," she told Marie Claire.
