Beyoncé's daughter Blue Ivy wears €18k dress to Beauty and the Beast premiere
Beyoncé and her daughter Blue Ivy dressed to impress for the Beauty and the Beast premiere in Hollywood.
The pair kept a low profile at the event by skipping the red carpet, but the Halo singer confirmed their attendance by sharing photos to her website beyonce.com.
Blue Ivy and her superstar mother wore matching green dresses for the event in the El Captain Theatre last week, with the five-year-old wearing a modified version of an €18,000 Gucci dress.
The velvet-trimmed gown is embroidered with parrots and snakes on the bodice and embellished with crystals and faux pearls. The stylish youngster matched the dress with a pair of white Converse, while Bey, who is pregnant with twins, wore a floor-length green gown.
Beyonce broke the news that she is expecting by posting a photo of her growing baby bump to Instagram in February.
The Lemonade singer reportedly wanted to announce the twins' pending arrival before the Grammys later this month. She announced she was pregnant with Blue Ivy at the MTV VMAs in 2011.
"She announced it this way before Grammy fittings and rehearsals, as she knew it would get out. She couldn't repeat the same debut on the show like the VMAs and didn't want it to take away from her Grammy wins and performance," an insider told Us Weekly.
The pregnancy news comes less than a year after the couple, who wed in 2008, was dogged by rumours of an impending divorce, after Beyonce released her groundbreaking album and accompanying short film Lemonade, which detailed a relationship's ups and downs.
Many believed the emotional journey, about a cheating lover and a couple's subsequent reconciliation, was about the stars' own marriage, but the pair has never publicly addressed the speculation.
Jay Z and Beyonce have been eager to expand their family for some time. After the 2012 birth of Blue Ivy, the rapper revealed the couple had previously suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage, and Beyonce went on to open up about their family plans in a 2013 interview with Oprah Winfrey.
She explained, "I definitely want another child... It was important for me to do what I love and I love to perform and I love to make music, so I wanted to have my daughter and see if I was still as passionate.
"Maybe after this next tour I'll maybe have another baby."
