Awkward! Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston avoid each other at Critics Choice Awards
Hollywood might be a small town and the 'love rivals', as some tabloids would have you believe, have managed to successfully avoid sharing an event or bumping into one another and have only been pictured at the same event twice in ten years.
Ten years ago, Brad Pitt split from his then-wife Aniston and months later, he was in a relationship with Jolie.
But last night, the two leading ladies were both up for gongs at the Critics Choice Awards, where the former Friends star happily posed alongside fiance Justin Theroux, but her ex-husband was nowhere to be seen.
Jennifer was up for Best Actress for her transformative role in indie film Cake, losing out to Julianne Moore, while Angelina was nominated for Best Director for Unbroken, losing out to Richard Linklater.
The blonde bombshell championed this season's tuxedo trend in a Gucci creation with Christian Louboutin shoes, Fred Leighton jewelelry and Amrit necklace.
Meanwhile, the mum-of-six dazzled in a metallic silk gown by Versace, and was comfortable in the knowledge that the duo were seated on opposite sides of the room.
The only other public event the pair both attended was the 2009 Oscars, where Jen avoided the red carpet with then-boyfriend John Mayer.
Just last week, Aniston said she found it bizarre that she and Jolie's names are still pitted against one another, saying: "It’s ridiculous — that the two names have to go into the same sentence and there has to be a compare-and-despair thing,” she said.
And when asked about Angelina Jolie's unfavourable portrayal in the Sony email leak, she responded: “I don’t want to give any fuel to the fire."
