Ex-Blue Peter presenter Anthea Turner and her husband Grant Bovey have divorced.

The 55-year-old was granted a decree nisi at a hearing which took two minutes at the Central Family Court in London before District Judge Heather MacGregor.

The undefended petition was granted on the grounds of her husband's adultery.

It was sixth on a list of 25 couples seeking "quickie" divorces today.

Ms Turner, who was also a presenter for GMTV and Top of the Pops, revealed to the media that she had sought therapy to cope with the "pain and humiliation" of her bankrupt property developer husband's adultery with a younger woman and described their split as her "biggest life lesson".

The couple married in 2000 after first meeting in 1998, while she was still married to her agent, the former Radio 1 DJ Peter Powell.

Following their decree nisi, their 15-year marriage will finally be over within six weeks.

Mr Bovey was declared bankrupt following the collapse of his property business with £50 million debts, forcing the couple to sell Barbins Grange, their £11 million 57-acre estate near Godalming in Surrey.

Recently Ms Turner, who last month made a TV comeback as host of the Health Lottery, moved into a luxury riverside apartment in London.

Born in Stoke-on-Trent, the star of Celebrity Big Brother, Dancing On Ice and The Jump started her career on radio at the age of 23 and went on to present Blue Peter from 1992 to 1994, then spent the next two years fronting GMTV.
