Angelina Jolie beams in elegant grey gown: all the photos from the Hollywood Film Awards
Angelina Jolie is officially back to her best.
The Oscar-winning actress (42) has had a difficult year: last November, she announced her split with partner of 11 years Brad Pitt and in July, she revealed the stress had caused her to develop Bell's palsy while also touching on a mystery illness. But she looked happy and healthy as she walked the red carpet on Sunday night for the Hollywood Film Awards, where she received the Hollywood Foreign Language Film Award for Netflix's First They Killed My Father.
The mother-of-six proudly accepted the honour alongside Cambodian human rights activist Loung Ung, wearing an Old Hollywood inspired grey gown by Jenny Packham, jewellery by Tiffany & Co and a bold red lip.
Jolie has become an inspiration to people around the world for her frank admissions on her health, in addition to her activism. After publicly discussing her preventive double mastectomy in 2013, Jolie shared that she developed Bell's palsy in 2015, causing one side of her face to droop. "Sometimes women in families put themselves last until it manifests itself in their own health," she told Vanity Fair at the time, crediting acupuncture for her full recovery.
Awards season might still be months away, but last night's ceremony gave fans a taste of what to expect. Kate Winslet and Amy Adams were both in attendance, alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Kate Mara, Dakota Johnson and Margot Robbie, who is earning early buzz for awards recognition for her turn as Tonya Harding in I, Tonya.
