Amber Heard reportedly never testified at Johnny Depp divorce hearing
Amber Heard reportedly never testified during her deposition hearing over the weekend.
The 30-year-old filed for divorce from Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp in May after 15 months of marriage, and on Saturday, Amber was supposed to testify as part of her deposition in the divorce case.
Amber's lawyer Samantha Spector arrived at the offices of Johnny's legal representative, Laura Wasser, at 10.15am, but the actress showed up 90 minutes late.
The early morning deposition was scheduled to take place after both sides reportedly tried to hammer out a deal to end the marriage on Friday night. However, the negotiations reportedly broke down at 9pm.
Another member of Johnny's legal team, Blair Berk, was set to lead the questioning at the deposition, focusing on Amber's claims the 53-year-old was physically abusive towards her during their union.
The actress went public with her accusations a week after filing for divorce, when she appeared in court sporting what appeared to be a bruise on her right eye. She submitted photographic evidence of her estranged husband's alleged abuse with her request for a domestic violence restraining order. Amber claimed the injuries in court were the result of Johnny hitting her with a cellphone two nights before she decided to end the marriage.
Johnny's lawyers were reportedly going to ask Amber a number of questions about the fact the police officers who arrived at their L.A. home that evening saw no evidence of physical injury.
The deposition, which Johnny did not attend in person, was also supposed to address Amber's financial demands as part of the divorce.
However, according to TMZ.com, Amber never entered the offices where the deposition was set to take place. It is unclear why the 30-year-old did not testify. The two sides reportedly continued settlement negotiations but couldn't reach a deal.
