Alicia Vikander denies Michael Fassbender split, says rumours are hurtful
Alicia Vikander has denied she split with Irish actor Michael Fassbender.
The Swedish actress (27) has been dating the Kerryman (38) since 2014 when they met on the set of The Light Between Oceans.
And while the famously private pair never dish on their personal life, she confirmed in US Vogue's latest cover story that they are in fact still together.
“I always believed there must be some truth to the stuff you read,” she told the magazine in says. “But I learned.”
Vikander, who stars in four different films this year, is making waves as Hollywood's next big thing - with two Golden Globe nominations under her belt for Best Supporting Actress (Ex Machina) and Best Actress in a Drama (The Danish Girl).
She also nabbed a Best Supporting Actress SAG nomination for The Danish Girl and is heavily tipped to receive an Oscar nod.
Earlier this year, she revealed her desire for a gold statue, saying: "If all goes well, I’m going to have three films in contention. I’ve had many years of working a lot without being in the public eye. And that’s been good.
"By this time next year, I think things are going to change.” She smiled. “I expect to be busy. I’m ready to be a bit more known.”
Alicia covers Vogue's January 2016 issue and in the interview, she said she's enjoying her relative anonymity in terms of mainstream recognition.
"I feel, for now, that I’m still able to see this industry from both sides. Sometimes I wonder whether that’s going to change and suddenly I’m going to just...I don’t know, go to the other side, if there is another side. I still have that fantasy, or maybe fear, about celebrity."
