Adam Clayton announces birth of first child with wife Mariana
U2 star Adam Clayton has welcomed a baby with his wife Mariana.
The couple, who have been married for four years, announced the new addition to their family in a personal ad in the Irish Times.
"Adam and Mariana Clayton are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl Alba," they wrote in the announcement, declining to provide any additional details of when or where she was born.
The couple wed in Dublin in 2013 after Adam popped the question in Mariana's native Brazil that same year.
Adam from Malahide, was once engaged to supermodel Naomi Campbell for a few brief months in 1994 but their relationship ended that same year.
In 2006, he was again engaged to Suzie Smith, a former assistant to band manger Paul McGuinness, but they split up in February 2007.
Bono let the cat out of the bag earlier this month at a concert at London's Twickenham Stadium.
He asked the audience "Is Adam Clayton not a sexy man? Is your sexy woman here tonight?"
When Clayton nodded yes, Bono added: "And expecting a baby, can I say that?"
Clayton nodded his head no and Bono replied, "Okay, can't say that".
Adam welcomed a child with a former partner in 2011.
