Actor Benedict Cumberbatch ‘to wed Sophie Hunter on Valentine’s Day’
Benedict Cumberbatch is reportedly getting married on Valentine’s Day.
The Imitation Game actor announced his engagement to theatre director Sophie Hunter in November and the couple are currently expecting their first child together.
According to new reports from UK newspapers the Daily Mail and the Mirror, the pair will become man and wife on February 14. Both papers cite different locations as to where the wedding will take place. The Mail indicates the wedding location is at a stunning period property in the South of England, but the Mirror claims the ceremony is happening on the Isle of Wight.
Apparently only close family and friends have been invited.
Sources tell The Mirror a marquee and several white teepee tents have been erected on the site of Benedict and Sophie’s wedding. A road leading into the private location will supposedly be blocked off while the event takes place.
It’s rumoured Benedict eagerly desired to tie the knot with Sophie before she gives birth. Last month reports emerged the couple decided to email their wedding invitations out to expedite the process.
“The invitations have gone out already which is very quick,” a source told The Mirror previously.
“It's shocked a few people but they want their special day to happen before they have the baby.
“The details have been sent out in an email rather than a paper invitation as time is of the essence.”
The location of their nuptials is purportedly top secret and guests are barred from revealing where the event will be hosted.
Despite the precautions, the wedding is expected to be amazing.
"They're planning the perfect day,” the insider said. “Life couldn’t be much better for them at the moment."
It is expected Benedict and Sophie, who started dating a year before their November 2014 engagement, will be going on honeymoon soon after the wedding.
