The Irish Film and Television Awards may have been divided into two separate ceremonies these days, but it'll always be one glitzy affair in our hearts.

This Sunday, the Film and Drama award ceremony will take place at Dublin's Mansion House. But not before we take a trip down memory lane.

In its glory days circa 2005 to 2008, the IFTA board would fly in A-list (at the time) talent including Mel Gibson, Rene Russo and Josh Hartnett. Irish stars like Colin Farrell and Michael Fassbender are regular attendees, while famous faces from stage and screen show up annually and gifted us with some of the most memorable red carpet moments of the noughties.

This week, we rooted through the archives to relive the glory days of the IFTAs in the 2000s...

(L to R) Rosanna Davison and Wesley Quirke in 2007; Laura Whitmore in 2011 and Brian O'Driscoll and Amy Huberman in 2010

2011: Sex and The City Kim Cattrall was the guest of honour and oozed old Hollywood glamour in this asymmetric design.

2011: This is Laura Whitmore doing edgy.
2011: Lorraine Keane did the Amal Clooney glove before it was a thing.

2010: Miriam O'Callaghan stood out from the crowd in this embellished blue gown.
2010: Josh Hartnett was flown in for the occasion. He looks as confused as we are as to why.
2009: Two years after attending the Oscars (where she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress), Saoirse Ronan attended her first IFTAs.
2009: Amanda Byram oozed noughties glamour in this silk embellished dress, with gold accessories.
2009: Deirdre O'Kane went for '40s glamour with an apparently bewildered Jim Sheridan.
2008: Lorraine Keane raised the bar high for 2008 glamour in this Grecian style gown.

2008: Rene Russo was among the last big name recruits for the annual ceremony.
2008: Caroline Morahan was never one to blend into the crowd.
2008: After her iconic IFTA look in 2007, Rosanna Davison looked considerably pared down in this aquamarine dress with sheer panelling.
2008: For their first IFTAas, Amy and Brian let people know early they were a power couple to be reckoned with.
2008: Bo Derek and John Corbett were also there.
2008: Mel Gibson was too. He won a Contribution to World Cinema award.
2008: Lorraine Keane and Bo Derek's picture together sums up the IFTAs.
