Lucy Kennedy is talking about an interesting moment that happened during the filming of her series, Living With Lucy. The show, in which Kennedy invites herself to live for three days with figures of renown, infamy or intrigue, has become the unlikely jewel in Virgin Media’s crown. On this particular weekend, she has been despatched to Essex, to get to know reality TV star Gemma Collins.

I rocked up to the house in jeans, dying to do a wee as ever — no pelvic floor — and I was literally drawing in my eyebrows as we approached the door,” Kennedy recalls. “After a while, the director told [Gemma], ‘Okay, we’ll need a few minutes as she needs to go to the loo’, and Gemma seemed horrified. She actually said, ‘Oh my god, you’re the presenter’. I could see she thought I was some random runner, or maybe the friend of the presenter.”
