How Kathryn Thomas, Pippa O'Connor and other Irish celebs are spending Valentine's Day

Instead of enjoying the day with her boyfriend of nearly two years, Padraig McLoughlin, Kathryn Thomas will be spending this afternoon with his brother Thomas.

"I'm spending it with his brother but it's not what you think," Kathryn teased.

"He is opening a new gym in Tullamore and I will be there at 3pm to officially launch it.

"I'm hoping that after that Padraig is going to surprise me with a nice night away somewhere," she added.

Model Pippa O'Connor is heading out with Brian Ormond and their friends this evening.

"We're actually going out for dinner with a group of friends tonight so nothing too romantic this year but it'll be more fun and a bit of craic this year instead," she said.

Presenter Norah Casey says she'll be doing "single activities" after recently splitting from her fireman boyfriend Peter Allen.

"I'll be doing some determinedly single activity," she said.

"And anything that involves my 16-year-old actually so it might be bowling."

While Norah is bowling, Lorraine Keane will be at a gig with husband Peter Devlin.

"We're going to see a Beatles tribute band with some pals of ours," she said.

"It'll be fun and we wouldn't really go out otherwise to be honest."

Also being treated to a surprise tonight is British singer Rachel Stevens.

 "My hubby Alex is taking me out tonight, I don't know where yet because it's a surprise," she revealed.

"But the two of us are real foodies so it will probably be a really nice restaurant," The Voice of Ireland judge said.
