The 2020 ball season opened in style with the Blossom Tree Ball in aid of the Jenny McGovern Pancreatic Trust. Pippa O'Connor Ormond and her husband, Brian, greeted guests and among the stylish attendees were (1) Ceire O Rourke and Tara O' Connor wearing a yellow Cecilie Bahnsen dress from Havana.

(3) Vogue Williams was so funny when I met her at the Paul Costelloe London Fashion Week show held in the swish marble surroundings of the Palm Court at the Waldorf this week. Vogue looked fab wearing one of Paul's SS20 dresses. And if she confessed to being nervous about what Paul might think about how she had styled the belted floral dress - which was worn slash-front with a black leather-and-pearl-studded belt and toughened up with black Grenson boots - she shouldn't have been. Paul loved the look. Apart from his own loyal family, Paul's extended family at Dunnes Stores were over to cheer him on, including his 'Studio' buying team, footballing designer Paul Galvin and celebrity gardener Diarmuid Gavin, who later told me that this was his first ever fashion show.

Back in Dublin, I met (4) Nicky Logue, general manager of the InterContinental show, chatting to Leinster's Rob Kearney, at a photocall to promote Lorraine Keane's upcoming Fashion Relief events. Nicky was beaming with the news that the hotel is in the 2020 Forbes Travel Guide's star-rating list. The two guys chatted about Rob's nuptials to Jess Redden next year. Of course, Nicky suggested the Ballsbridge hotel as a potential location, but Rob said they were undecided yet as to where the big day would be held!
