Gourmet food and high-end designer fashion - is there be a more hedonistic way of spending a Thursday afternoon? (1) Shelly Corkery and Alison Doody were pictured at the Brown Thomas SS 2020 international collections, which took place at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud. The pair were both rocking the monochrome look with Shelly, group fashion director at BTs, choosing a giraffe-print dress in which to host the lunch before flying out to New York Fashion Week. Alison meanwhile opted for an ivory trouser suit and blouse.
Guests included cashmere designer Lucy Nagle who gave birth to her third child last year and singer/author Andrea Corr.
The style was something else as the lunch was for the store's top clients. McQueen sent over fabulous samples of its lace and linen dresses and so too did Richard Quinn, and there was lots of interest in pieces by Victoria Beckham. I wish Mrs B well showing her new collection at London Fashion Week at 10am tomorrow.
The 25th anniversary of Riverdance was marked in style at 3Arena Dublin exactly a quarter of a century to the day that Riverdance was first performed at the Point Depot. Producer Moya Doherty and director John McColgan, who is pictured with his son, Justin, president of the Levendi Winery in California, have completely re-imagined the show.
How lovely to see so many of the original production crew still involved, including Joan Bergin who was wearing her signature hat and has designed lovely new costumes. Catch up with the show at the Gaiety Theatre from June 12.
Roisin Tierney Crowe and Louise McSharry at the IT Cosmetics ‘Pillow Lips’ launch and Valentine’s lunch at Glovers Alley, Dublin. Louise told me how much she is enjoying her new weekend mornings slot on 2fm.
Everything is coming up crocuses. A celebration opens this weekend at Mount Congreve Gardens in Co Waterford where there is a jewel-like carpet of colour from 20,000 bulbs planted. mountcongreve.com for more info
