Bairbre Power

The launch of the Botanical Garden Terrace at Elle's Bar & Bistro in the Iveagh Garden Hotel was quite a night, with a glam squad all heading to Harcourt Street. I met (left to right) Michelle, Jenny and Danielle McGill, three of the sisters who are involved in the hotel. Michelle is due to tie the knot with Stephen Bradshaw in June so the countdown has begun.

On the night, I chatted with presenters Theresa Lowe, and Xposé's Nadine Reid, and I tried canapés inspired by Elle's new vegan and summer menus, plus some of the low-cal drinks from Elle's new Skinny Belle drinks menu. Singers Paul Byrom and Tommy Fleming were also spotted enjoying the live jazz.

Brother and sister Chris and Lucinda Andrews were photographed at Weir & Sons' 150th Celebration with Patek Philippe at The Round Room in the Mansion House, as the two iconic family-owned brands came together for the black-tie event. Guests including hotelier and presenter Francis Brennan - along with more than 250 of Weir & Sons' most loyal clients - were welcomed by the atmospheric sounds of violinist Eimear Bradley.

The night celebrated Weirs' illustrious 150-year history and, after bubbly and a five-course dinner, guests took to the dance floor to the rocking sounds of The Bentley Boys. The launch of a limited-edited commemorative Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph watch generated some chatter too. There are only 25 made - and the price tag? A mere €90k.

The new Method and Madness Irish Micro Distilled Gin from Midleton Distillery was launched with a scenic sail down Dublin’s Grand Canal. Guests included Conor O’Brien from Villagers and DJ Sally Cinnamon.
