Annie Lennox's daughter Tali is 'struggling with grief' following the death of model boyfriend Ian
The daughter of Annie Lennox, Tali (22) is overcome with grief following a funeral service held for her late boyfriend Ian last weekend.
The model and artist and her long-term boyfriend Ian Jones (33) were involved in a kayaking accident ten days ago in which he lost his life.
After their kayak capsized, Tali, 22, was rescued by a passing boat, but 32-year-old Ian's body was found a few days later. Neither was wearing a life jacket.
Ian's funeral was held on Saturday in Pennsylvania, with Tali's mother Annie Lennox there to support her but a source revealed she is struggling greatly with loss.
"Tali is absolutely devastated and overwhelmed with grief. She and Ian had talked about marriage and having a family together at some point. They were at André Balazs' estate for a friend's birthday party when they decided to go kayaking - a fatal misjudgement of the current," a source told Grazia.
Tali has shared her despair at Ian's passing on social media, calling him the love and light of her life. She also told fans how much their love has meant to her during this dark time.
Tali and Ian met in 2012, when he had just been released from prison after a 14-month sentence for threatening to kill two flight attendants during a flight.
"Ian's demons were well known but, with Tali's help, he had conquered them and was getting regular work. In turn, he helped her gain a huge amount of confidence as a painter," the source said.
The death has also affected Eurythmics frontwoman Annie, who shared a close bond with Ian.
"Tali's mum Annie is staying with her in her East Village apartment, and all her friends are rallying around her. Annie is devastated too, as she regarded Ian as the son she never had. They were very close. It's all so very tragic," the insider said..
