Triona's trends

Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation

I believe in the magical power of great hair, black eyeliner and red lips - see my photo, above.

This is my go-to look, day or night - because life's too short to save your prettiest looks for a night out! It's time to have fun with beauty, and that starts with getting your base correct.

To celebrate the relaunch of Lancome's bestselling Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation, above, €41, there are now a massive 40 shades available. I dare you not to find one that suits your skintone perfectly. In fact, you can log on to lancome-shadefinder.co.uk, if you don't believe me.

At the relaunch, I learned how Lancome found inspiring women all over the world to represent each shade, and yaaay! there is an Irish girl in there, violinist Cathy O'Neill, who mesmerised us with her skill and her luminous skin!

When it comes to lipstick, I love a strong lip, but hate the high-maintenance aspect of it, so something like Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella, €26.50, stays put and feels great.

My latest discovery is Max Factor Colour Elixir Universal Lip Liner, below, €6.99, "a lip hack in a liner'' as it's called. It basically keeps all your lipstick intact, so there is no bleeding or feathering or smudging, and best of all, the invisible formula is enriched with lip conditioners and moisturisers, including jojoba oil and Vitamin E.

Triona's trick

Since Maxi started Montessori, we've got into make 'n' do, and empty Pringles tubes are a favourite to use. I'm such a great mum - I munch my way through as many crisps as possible, so he always has empty tubes. Burp! Excuse me! Once the tubes are cleaned and he's decorated them, I use them to store flat irons or toothbrushes when travelling

Oil always love you

Kiehl's new mineral oil-free Botanical Cleansing Oil

Dear Kiehl's,

Just a little note to say a big thank you for taking all the best bits from my beloved Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate Oil and making this new mineral oil-free Botanical Cleansing Oil, above, €35.

I don't think I'll ever need another cleansing oil again!

I don't have the time to double cleanse and, anyhoo, I don't like the waste, so this delicious oil, with its distinctive lavender sleep-inducing scent, making it half skincare and half aromatherapy, is a delight. I'm addicted.

I use two pumps on dry skin to melt away all my make-up, including 10 coats of mascara and the blackest eyeliner ever.

Then I just add water to emulsify the oil and turn it milky, and rinse it off, to leave my skin feeling clean, soft and comfortable, with no dryness or tightness.

Oil always love you!

So heavenly

I recently popped over to Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links, see portmarnock.com, to check out The Spa, taking in the magnificent sea views as I walked into the elegant building. I got to experience the new Carita Neomorphose peel, which clarified my complexion with immediately visible results in this haven of indulgence. I honestly felt like I'd escaped to some chic pamper palace in the South of France like Emily Ratajkowski, above, does. I left fully refreshed and recharged after only a few hours. As well as Carita, which I adore, they also have Elemis and Essie treatments. It was like a half day in heaven.

Eucerin Facial Skin Hyaluron-Filler Concentrate Ampoules

I was in Hamburg recently to visit Beiersdorf, HQ of many well-loved brands like the luxurious La Prairie, lip care from Labello, as well as Atrixo and Nivea. It was Eucerin, though, that intrigued me the most.

Did you know Eucerin is the oldest dermo-cosmetic brand in the world, yet it has a very modern approach to animal testing - it doesn't test on animals.

Get this, Eucerin prefer to work with cosmetic surgeons who carry out tummy tucks and facelifts, and so use the, eh, leftovers.

If you've ever had any work done yourself, Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Balm, €10.99, is what countless docs recommend for helping with scars, as it has amazing soothing properties.

Eucerin also has some of the best products for conditions such as rosacea, eczema and acne. I've tried the Eucerin Anti-Age Volume-Filler Day and Night Cream, both €27.99, with wonderful results, But it's Eucerin's advanced anti-wrinkle range, Hyaluron-Filler, that I have really fallen for. I'm recommending the Eucerin Facial Skin Hyaluron-Filler Concentrate Ampoules, above, €30, for six ampoules, to all my followers.

Eucerin claims that the Hyaluron-Filler Ampoules reduce the appearance of even deep wrinkles, so I use it twice daily before the Hyaluron-Filler Day Cream, €26.99. One ampoule lasts a week.

Cult product

Look how they shine for you! If you're obsessed with stars and cult beauty products like me, then you're going to heart this product.

The YSL 25th-anniversary, limited-edition star version of the cult classic highlighter, Touche Eclat, above, €35, is enclosed in a little bag of gold stars and is available in three shades.

There's also a matching version of Faux Cils mascara, €32.50, so when they are teamed together, you can, eh, reach for the stars!
