This week we, at Independent Woman, have been researching how to smooth out those orange peel thighs with the magic coffee body wrap.

What is it?

A skin-firming anti-cellulite treatment administered inside a high tech heated spa capsule. Developed to harness the detoxifying effects of coffee, the Magic Coffee Wrap is designed to boost circulation, blast fat and soften skin using a mix of caffeine and infrared light.

What's the process?

On arriving at your designated pod, the treatment begins with a vigorous coffee bean scrub which removes dead skin and boosts circulation, the lid is closed on your capsule and for the next 25 minutes a hydrotherapy treatment is administered to the body. The final stage sees more caffeine with a serum and mask applied to the legs. Steam and infrared light are applied to the body before skin is finally treated to a lymph-draining massage and rubbed down with a vitamin rich body butter.

Sounds techy ... is it safe?

Had my doubts before I tried it but yes, perfectly safe and quite relaxing.

How does it work?

As poor circulation is one of the most common causes of cellulite, this treatment aims to combat the dreaded peel by teaming the stimulant properties of coffee with the heating properties of infrared light. Skin circulation is boosted and toxins are reduced.

What are the benefits?

Caffeine is the secret here. As well as getting you up in the morning, when applied to skin caffeine accelerates circulation which in turn helps break down cellulite. The lotions and potions are loaded with skin vitamins A & E which as well as helping reduce the appearance of cellulite also leave skin soft, supple and ready for the beach.

How long does it take?

Quite a long one. The total treatment time is close to two hours and most of the time is spent in a capsule.

The best bit?

Super soft skin! The serums, wraps and scrubs combined with the heat and steam from the capsule leave skin incredibly soft and well hydrated.

Any downsides?

Although it's far from uncomfortable, the spa capsule can feel a little claustrophobic after a while. If you are the sort who hates confined spaces, you may wish to give this one a miss!

I'm in .. where to next?
