Here are my 15 favourite skincare and makeup heroes for under a tenner.
Primark PS… My Perfect Colour Longwear Ultimate Matte Foundation, €6, from Penneys stores nationwide
This whole My Perfect Colour foundation line (it comes in different finishes - ie dewy, velvet and long-wear) is a constant sell-out in Penneys stores - with this long-wear, medium-coverage, matte-finish, oil-free option being its stand-out bestseller. It's best applied with a wet sponge/brush and will stay in place all day. It also comes in nearly 20 different shade variations.
Catrice HD Liquid Radiance Foundation, €7.90, from pharmacies and Penneys stores nationwide
If you fancy getting your mitts on an ultra light and moisturising foundation that gives faces radiant, healthy-looking skin - all for under a tenner - check this out. This has a light-diffusing soft-focus effect and it's a great option for more mature skin. The only downfall is the limited range of shades.
NOTE Cosmetics Gel Look Nail Enamel in Pinkish Nude 05, €5.95, from pharmacies nationwide
If a pro mani is not within your beauty budget this month, why not give yourself a jazzy DIY version? Try this new varnish line from Note Cosmetics that gives a gel look, pro finish for a fraction of the cost. My favourite colour is the universally flattering neutral pink shade '05 Pinkish Nude'. Gorgeous.
Max Factor Eyebrow pencil, €7.99, from pharmacies nationwide
We all know the beauty world is having a brow obsession at the moment - with a seemingly endless array of brow products! If you're a fan of the brow pencil, this budget gem won't see you far wrong. With a soft pencil and built-in brush, you'll be looking groomed and ready to go in a jiffy.
Carter Beauty Get Lit Illuminator in Gold, €4.95, from pharmacies nationwide
If you're stuck into Love Island, you might remember last year's contestant Arabella Chi and her famous 'glow'. She's actually a big fan of homegrown Irish beauty guru Marissa Carter's makeup line - Carter Beauty - specifically her illuminators. Her newest option, Get Lit, comes in three shades - rose, rose gold and ice. Just pop a few drops either into your foundation or body cream, before makeup or on its own, or just dab on the tops of cheekbones and under the arch of the eyebrow for a megawatt glow!
Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Mattifying Powder, €8.99, from pharmacies nationwide
This gem is jam packed with micro milled blurring powders for a clean matte finish. Just dab the powder on to the areas of the face where you'd like to mattify and refine the skin using a large powder brush.
NYX Blotting Paper, €5, department stores and Boots nationwide
If you're not a fan of using powders on your skin, but you'd rather ditch any sweaty, shiny appearance - why not use blotting powders? They're a great way to mattify the face using zero make-up products. You just dab the papers on areas that are greasy and they absorb all the oil and then ditch the paper. Genius!
Essence Insta Perfect Foundation, €5.60
If you love water-based, light-as-a-feather foundation, this option is a brilliant pick. This is so flattering on dry and/or mature skin - again, the only downside is the limited shade range.
L'Occitane Shea Butter Soap, €6.50, from pharmacies and L'Occitane stores nationwide
The soap comeback in the last few years has been driven primarily by people looking to ditch unnecessary plastic from their beauty routines, with recent sales in soap skyrocketing! If you want a soap that will cleanse skin without sucking every last bit of moisture from it, but you don't want to break the beauty bank at the same time, try this soap made from moisturising shea butter. I think you'll love it.
Garnier Organic Cornflower Micellar Water, €9.99, from pharmacies nationwide
Organic, 100pc natural skincare can be uber pricey - but this fantastic organic line from Garnier is the game changer. Try its micellar water (can be used as a make-up remover and/or skin refresher), it's jam-packed with organic Argan Oil, Vitamin E and organic Lavandin essential oil and you'll be a convert to affordable organic skincare. Just dab on to cotton wool and swipe over skin.
Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan, €8.45, from pharmacies nationwide
This instant tan is a cult classic for a reason. It goes on like a dream (always use a buffing mitt to apply) and gives a healthy glow to limbs and body in seconds. It dries in an instant and most importantly won't come off on your clothes! It now comes in a water-resistant formula - perfect for rainy, wet Irish nights out and for under a tenner, too!
Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color, €3.99, from pharmacies nationwide
This is a long-wear lipstick (it should last four hours) with a luscious, semi-matte, cream finish. It's hard to find a cream-finish lippy that will actually stay on our lips for any length of time, so it's no wonder this budget beaut won Allure's Best of Beauty Award..
Nivea Lip Care Sun Protect Balm, €3.50, from pharmacies nationwide
If you're on the lookout for a lip balm that not only nourishes your lips, but also protects it from sun damage, check out this pick from Nivea. With Vitamin E and sunflower extracts, this leaves pouts smooth and well protected from the weather - all for less than the cost of a cappuccino!
Soap and Glory Smoothie Breakfast Scrub Body Smoother, €7.50, from Boots nationwide
For a body exfoliator that will polish skin and keep your beauty budget on track, try this oat, shea butter and sugar body smoother. Just scoop out a handful in the shower or bath, rub it between your palms, scrub in circles on to damp skin, then rinse off. Leaves skin fresh as a daisy.
Elf Superhydrate Moisturiser with Squalane, €9, from pharmacies and Penneys stores nationwide
Quench thirsty skin and give it some much-needed TLC with this fast-absorbing moisturiser. Plant-derived Squalane (a natural oil that balances moisture and maintains skin's elasticity) is the primary ingredient in this gel moisturiser. It'll sink in quickly for a smooth, non-greasy finish making it perfect for using under make-up.
