By this stage, you've probably survived the office Christmas party. Now, with just a few working days left, it's those dangerous midweek drinks or party invites you have to watch out for. Those casual after-work drinks have a habit of turning into five, six or seven drinks.

Some unfortunates might have work, meetings or, worse, an interview after their big night out.

You'll be pale. You'll feel like the room is spinning. You might even still smell slightly of your tipple of choice. Time to hide those tell-tale signs.

When you get up, head straight for some serious pain relief. Clean all of last night's make-up off your face. Stale face? A clear sign you were too wrecked to remove it the night before.

Rehydrate with as much water as you can. Brush your teeth, spray on a bit of Cool Water, or whatever perfume is handiest. Trust me, your colleagues would rather you smell like Davidoff than Smirnoff.

Nivea Daily Essentials Tinted Day Cream, €6.99, from Boots stores and most pharmacies Keep your face moisturised (but not caked with make-up) and looking fresh by using a tinted moisturiser. A great option for even the tightest budget, this will give great coverage.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat highlighter and Concealer, €35 from Arnotts, Clearys and Brown Thomas YSL Touche Éclat never fails to brighten up even the most tiredlooking face. Use this under your brow to make your eyes appear more open, a line down your nose to catch the light and some on the apples of your cheeks to give a dewy glow.

Garnier Caffeine Anti- Dark Circles 2-in-1 Tinted Eye Roll-On, €14.99 from pharmacies and Boots stores Dark circles under your eyes are a dead giveaway. Garnier’s newest version of their undereye roll-on is nothing short of a miracle. This not only makes eyes feel firmer and more awake, but drastically reduces the bluey hue that characterise those unsightly bags.

Essence ‘Forget It’ Concealer 3 in 1, €2.99, from selected pharmacies and department stores A seriously cheap and easy way to ‘forget’ the night before, this trio allows you to pick the colour you need, or lets you have all three. Feeling a little flushed? Apply green. Need to hide your dark circles? Apply cream. Looking washed out? The pink one will work a treat on your cheeks.

Barry M Shimmer Crème in Bronze, €4.50, from selected pharmacies This is a great option for highlighting and bronzing. It gives a natural bronze glow to the skin as well as catching the light and brightening up your face.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Sand, €23, from selected department stores This yellow-based concealer completely camouflages dark circles but gives really natural coverage. It has Vitamins A and E, which give moisture and antioxidant protection to tired and partied-out skin.
