I have been fascinated with all things creepy, ghoulish and spooky since my mother read Hansel and Gretel to me as a child. So it's no surprise that Halloween is my favourite time of year. I have to admit my love of the macabre has made me quite a hit with children too, who love the frisson of a good fright. One of my favourite Halloween things to do with my eight-year-old son is to don the most terrifying witch mask you'll ever encounter, and chase him and his pals around the house with a hurley as my broom/wicked wand. Whoever gets caught gets eaten!
Now, before anyone should get concerned about this none-too-wholesome hobby of mine, I should stress that the kids beg me to "play the witch game" - so it can't be that traumatising.
It seems kids and adults alike love to scare each other and feel the thrill of the chill. So to help you get your gore-geous on this Halloween weekend, I've listed my top five favourites all things ghoulishly glam below.
Wishing you all a spooktastic Halloween!
