From humble beginings to beauty powerhouses, this week I'm focusing on some of the best skincare lines available that that were dreamed up, discussed and literally created at the family kitchen table. Home economics at its best!

These entrepreneurs started with one part passion for skincare, two parts elbow grease and work ethic and mixed them together with drive and belief and ended up as huge beauty success stories. A common piece of advice from the people showcased today has been to "create something you want to use yourself". See it, believe it, achieve it, I say!

Liz Earle, an ex-beauty writer who always had an interest in natural, botanical skincare, started by creating her own beauty products from scratch in her bathroom! Thirty years later, Liz Earle Skincare is now a best-selling international  skincare line. She has also written over 30 books on beauty and wellness and launched a quarterly magazine.
