Joanna Kiernan

Karena Graham, 23, Knocklyon, D16, model, and also works in Captain Americas Restaurant

What are your hobbies and interests?

My hobbies and interests are travelling, singing and music.

Why should you be Miss Universe?

I think I'll leave that question up to other people to decide whether I would be good enough, but I would like to represent Ireland in a positive light.

Physically, how would you rate yourself out of 10 and why?

It's too hard to rate myself. Self-confidence is very important, but there is a fine line between confidence and overconfidence and I most certainly don't want to cross that line.

Do you have a boyfriend?

I don't have a boyfriend at the moment.

What do you look for in a man?

I look for ambition, sense of humour, spontaneity and, of course, good hygiene!

What is the most important thing you have learned in life?

The most important thing in life I've learned so far is not to take it too seriously; you only live once.

What Irish politician would you most rate?

The politician I would most rate is Eamon de Valera because he gave us our freedom. Hope he counts!

If you could implement one thing in this country to help us out of the recession what would it be?

For everyone to have more positivity. I think if we all had positive energy it would create more positive outcomes.

What's your ultimate dream?

To have a job I can travel the world with, preferably in some part of the music industry, to be very independent and have a really big family.

Why have you entered this competition?

I have entered this competition because I think it will be an amazing experience and different to anything I have done before.

If you were on a desert island and could bring three items, what would these be and why?

1) My phone because it's glued to my hand and I feel homesick without it.

2) My iPod because I can't sleep without listening to music.

3) A funny friend to keep me well entertained.

Are you a good girlfriend?

I'd like to think I'm a good girlfriend, yes.

Would you consider yourself traditional in any way?

I'm very traditional around Christmas.

If you were to have plastic surgery what would you have done?

I'm hoping I don't have to think about having plastic surgery for a long time. I'm happy with what I have for now.
