The top seven makeup brands your teenager will be obsessed with this Christmas
We've whittled down the top seven brands your teenager would be delighted to see under the tree this Christmas.
1. Kylie Cosmetics
With 21 matte liquid lip shades, three metals, two Christmas colours and 19 glosses in lip products alone, it’s hard to choose from Kylie Cosmetics, especially since a few shades are sold out every day. Try taking a look at the lipstick shades your teen usually wears to give yourself a good idea. A few dark shades from the collection come out patchy, so make sure to read the reviews before you buy. Irish shoppers take note, because it's only available online - prepare to wait at least five business days after ordering. Kylie also just launched her Christmas collection with the holiday collection bundle coming in at a grand total of $325 (€306).
Star Buys: Love bite Lip Kit $29 (€27).
2. Urban Decay
Urban Decay is more accessible than Kylie Cosmetics, with counters all over Ireland. With a good standing history of high quality products the brand is slightly more expensive, which is why it’s on the Christmas list and not already bought! Famous for their Naked eyeshadow palettes, all covering concealers and highly pigmented lipsticks, your options are endless.
Star Buys: The All Nighter Setting Spray (€30) and Naked Flushed palette (€31) are a good place to start.
Another brand that's readily available, Benefit is famous for its stunning bronzers and brow-tastic products! As usual, Benefit have a number of festive gift sets featuring various fan favourite mascaras, bronzers and tints.
Star Buy: Have a look at the Girl A Rama gift set (€43) if you're not sure where to begin.
Relatively new to Ireland , NYX can be found in Boots and some pharmacies across the country and are on equal footing with its more expensive peers. We love their deep contour shades, strobing palettes and blinding illuminators.
Star Buys: Tricks of the Trade travel kit (€37.50) and Full Throttle palette (€9).
5. Too Faced Cosmetics
Too Faced have released many Christmas products and gift sets this year including a new range of must-have eyeshadow palettes. Their biggest seller is the Better Than Sex mascara (don't let the name turn you off) which is one of the best on the market.
Star Buy: The Grand Hotel Café set with three palettes and one mascara (€49).
Before we get you hooked, be warned that US-based company Tarte only ships certain products to Ireland. Their Snapchat is great for quick tutorials and the brand is loved by bloggers worldwide. We're calling it - 2017 is going to be their year.
Star buys: The Rainforest of the Sea and Amazonian Clay collection, said to nourish, hydrate and remove surface oil. The Colour Wheel Amazonian Clay blush palette includes 10 blushes for €44.
A shop ever increasing in popularity thanks to their Instagram-centric customer focus, Inglot has been the main destination in many a shopping trip taken by teenagers this year. Located in several shopping centres around Ireland, it's easy to get and affordable. They scream for attention with bold and powerful pigments, and you can try them all with their Freedom Palettes, which allow you to choose various lipsticks, eyeshadows and powders to create your own palette.
Star Buy: What a Spice Lipstick (€15).
