When I need to get my glam on, I get my go-to gals, Max Factor make-up artist, Lyndsey Cavanagh, who's dolling me up in my photo, above, and nice 'n easy colour ambassador, Joanne Kelly, who is perfecting my tresses.
They're my crack team for photoshoots, and are full of tips and tricks.
Joanne has great advice about colouring hair at home. She says it's important to be realistic about what you can achieve and, for best results, to stay within two to three shades of your natural colour. "Simply shifting a shade or two can transform your look and make over your mood," she says.
Her top pick is nice 'n easy permanent colour, €7.75. It's available in 56 shades, so it has a colour to suit everyone.
Joanne used the new Pantene Pro-V Breakage Defence Instant Hair Strength Tonic, left, €9.09, a leave-in treatment, in my hair before styling. It provides extra strength against breakage and up to 40pc more fullness. It can be used daily - massage it into the roots before styling.
Lyndsey insists on using a really good moisturiser before foundation for a flawless look. She used Olay Total Effects Day Moisturiser SPF 15, €19.35. The multi-vitamin moisturiser helps give the appearance of younger-looking skin, while protecting it.
Next, she used the new Max Factor Skin Luminizer Foundation, €16.89. The pearl pigments instantly brightened my skin, and gave a luminous, wide-awake effect.
My lips loved the Max Factor Giant Pen Stick in Vibrant Pink, €8.99. Lyndsey says you can line the lips and fill them in with one stroke, combining the benefits of a lip liner and bullet lipstick in one. Precision and true colour without any bleeding!
"Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together." I love that quote from Liz Taylor, below.
While the right lipstick mightn't solve problems, it definitely helps me look a bit better on crappy days.
Do you have a lipstick that just seems to wake up your whole face and make you look instantly better? If you haven't found 'The One' yet, get yourself to Boots, because they have a new No7 Match Made Lipstick service that can do it for you.
Remember their foundation-matching machine and service? Well, once you've had your skintone matched to the right foundation, you can then find a list of lipstick colours that are the most flattering against your skintone.
With 43 lipstick colours in six colour families, like Light Pink, Dark Pink, Plum, Coral, Red and Naturals, it's simple to find the perfect lippie! They come in No7's popular Moisture Drench and Stay Perfect formulations, both €12.95.
MY FREE BOOB JOB
Did you hear I got a free boob job from my boyf, Will? Well, a temporary one - it was when I was pregnant with Maxim.
I couldn't believe how big they got! Then, after breastfeeding, I thought I had 'furniture disease' because my chest had fallen into my drawers! Hahahaha! Now that I'm preggers again with Mini, I'm doing my best Page 3 impressions, as I know that in a year's time, I'll be tucking my boobs into my knickers!
Thankfully, there's a great product, Elemis Pro-Collagen Lifting Treatment, €99, for the neck and bust, to perk me up! Apparently, it's clinically proven to reduce wrinkles by up to 33pc and increase skin firmness by 17pc, with a 14pc increase in elasticity.
TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE
Calling all students - this bit here is especially for you!
Now, I remember going off to college when I was a young wan and completely running amok. My BFF Mary O'Mahony and I moved up to the big schmoke and basically lived on a diet of Maccie Ds - it was a novelty for us, coming from Schull, where we had nothing like that. Anyhoo, we spent an awful lot of time partying it up and then there were, em, all the late-night studying sessions, of course!
Before I knew it, the healthy skin I arrived with changed. So here's my best beauty advice for all you students out there: eat healthily, and also pop into your local Penneys and hunt down the cheap-as-chips essence pureskin range. It is the best budget-beauty range and your skin will thank you for using it.
I've been using the essence pureskin purifying nose strips, €1.89.
Do they work? Oh hell, yeah! I get a perverse type of pleasure from pulling the muck and dirt off my nose with these strips, and I insist on doing Will's hooter as well.
The essence pureskin SOS spot killer, €3.79, is really good too, as it contains antibacterials, zinc and salicylic acid, so it will help to dry out any spots. Then there's the essence pureskin all-in-one BB cream, €5.45. It's the hero product of the range as it offers skincare and coverage in one.
Now, back to the boys! Oops! I mean books.
Mmm! I've always loved musk, ever since I can remember, and it was the first thing I was drawn to when I tried out Narciso, €79, Narciso Rodriguez's new fragrance.
Musk is always a sensual scent, but this perfume is beautifully balanced with Bulgarian rose and gardenia floral notes, and then a touch of woodiness from the black and white cedar and vetiver. It's sexy without being slutty - kind of like the olfactory equivalent of one of the designer's luxe leather skirts.
The chunky, square, ice cube-like bottle would also beautify any vanity. #musthave
