Norma Jeane's dramatic transformation to the iconic Marilyn Monroe

Iconic screen star Marilyn Monroe is the latest global glamour ambassador for Max Factor.

Cosmetic innovator Mr Max Factor was actually the man who transformed girl-next-door Norma Jeane into the most desired film star in the world.

With her sultry voice, scarlet pout and platinum locks, the actress had a beauty look that captured the hearts of the world and her influence is still apparent today.

In celebration of their 80th year in business, the Max Factor company today announced the late star as their ‘global glamour ambassador’ in order to inspire women to experiment and have fun with their own look.

In conjunction with the announcement, the cosmetic giant has launched #GlamJan - as January is typically the time of the year when women seek to reinvent or reimagine their image.

Famous faces such as Candice Swanepoel are spearheading #GlamJan which aims to  encourage women from around the world to glam up with make-up and undergo a personal glamour transformation

After all, why should January be about doing without, paring down your make-up and enduring diets, #GlamJan will open new possibilities for women, just like it did for Marilyn Monroe.

Revered makeup maestro and Max Factor Global Creative Design Director, Pat McGrath said, “Marilyn made the sultry red lip, creamy skin and dramatically lined eyes the most famous beauty look of the 1940’s and it’s a look that continues to dominate the beauty and fashion industry. It is the ultimate look that defines glamour – nothing else compares.”

Ruby Tuesday, one of Marilyn’s favourite red lipsticks remains a bestseller for the brand.

“It’s the ultimate glamorous red,” Pat added.

Marilyn Monroe famously said, “I used to think as I looked out on the Hollywood night, ‘There must be thousands of girls sitting alone like me dreaming of being a movie star. But I’m not going to worry about them. I’m dreaming the hardest.”

With help from Mr Max Factor, who gave her the ultimate glamorous transformation from Norma Jeane to the stunning Marilyn Monroe, nothing could hold her back from fulfilling her dreams.
