Buzz-buzz, buzz-buzz — my phone lit up as it vibrated with “MICHAEL DOUGLAS CALLING” emblazoned across the screen. The Leo in me made sure everyone saw it, or at least heard me say: “Hello, hello. Oh, it’s you, Michael Douglas!”
Film-star Michael was, as you would expect, busy developing his next big drama series. He was not cutting or styling any hair — it was the other Michael Douglas calling, in his role as OGX haircare ambassador, to talk me through some of the biggest problems hair can encounter over the summer. We got straight into how humidity, dryness and colour damage are most people’s main concerns.
The solution, it seems, is less washing and heat, and treating your hair regularly, at least weekly, to an intensive hair mask likeOGX Extra Strength Argan Oil of Morocco Hair Mask,€7.50, health1stpharmacy.ie.
If you are going to be in the sun all day, you can apply the mask to your hair and pop on a hat — this will make a huge difference to your hair dryness.
We also discussed chopping off dead ends and letting hair dry naturally, especially in summer. And then he had to go, but not before we made arrangements to meet when he’s in Dublin again, possibly with Davina McCall, his girlfriend. If you ever wondered why she has the best hair looks EVERY week on The MaskedSinger, it is thanks to her live-in hairstylist Michael.
