It looks like we finally have the secret to Kate Middleton's impossibly perfect hair - hair extensions.

The Duchess of Cambridge has long enchanted fans with her bouncy locks, always styled to perfection.

But even a natural beauty needs a little boost.

The expectant royal was pictured with her husband Prince William making their way into Buckingham Palace for a Christmas lunch with the Queen and one quick side shot show off what appear to be bonds from hair extensions.

Kate's half up half down 'do may have discreetly hid the hair helpers, but a keen hair enthusiast will recognise the slightly hollowed gaps in her hair as the tell-tale signs of an extension wearer.

The 33-year-old royal, who is expecting her second child, has never admitted to wearing extensions, but beauty experts have long predicted she had some help in turning her hair into the most envied style in the world.

Beauty experts often advise wearers to throughly backcomb their hair in a bid to mask the bonds, which are often applied further back from the hairline.

Either way, her hair is beautiful and will still induce envy among the millions of women worshipping her style.
