Blessed with naturally glowing skin it's hard to believe Gwyneth Paltrow is only a year or so away from the big 4-0.

Having always had something of a fresh, youthful appearance her approach to styling and lifestyle may have changed over the years but the less is more maxim is beginning to really work for the Oscar winning mother of two.

Known for her devotion to yoga and looking after herself through macrobiotic dieting the LA born actress has admitted to taking things easier of late although that didn't stop her wowing the crowd in a one shouldered, diamante dusted Atelier gown at a recent Versace launch.

Teaming the daring design with an understated approach to make-up and sleek simple tresses, stealing Gwyneth's simple approach isn't as difficult as it might appear as the trick is to get the base right keep what follows relaxed.

To get Gwyneth's barely there base try mixing down your favorite foundation with a little illuminator like Soap & Glory's Hocus Focus and finger blending from the middle outwards soften blending edges with a smooth sponge.

Any imperfections can be smoothed over with a light reflecting concealer like Make Up Stores Reflex Cover in Light while a dusting of powder like Maybelines Translucent Pressed Powder should keep everything looking natural though still in place.

Gwyneth's look is a perfect match for her glowing skin but for a hint of bronze try swirling a light formula like Lancome Tropiques Minerale Smoothing Pressed Bronzer in Natural Sunbath over the apples of the cheeks.

For some subtle shading on the eyes sweep a light gold shadow like Bourjois Beige Rose from the lash line to the brow bone and add a little definition by applying a deeper gold like Bare Escentuals True Gold Eyeshadow across the socket.

To finish eyes, work a few sweeps of mascara like Mac's Zoomlash in Lofty Brown along the upper and lower lashes and as brown mascaras really soften the eyes for blondes, a slick of liner can be added along the top and bottom lashes should you feel that a touch too anonymous.

Blessed with gorgeous cheekbones and that famous pout Gwyneth has kept lips light and very much au natural. For that perfect polished pout finish lips by applying a light pink shade like Guerlain's Terracotta Cashmere Gloss in Rose Pondicherry.

Finally Gwyneth gave her beautiful S.J. Phillips earrings the perfect stage by wearing her glowing blonde locks swept to the side and softly styled. Even if you don't get to wear designer gowns and diamonds in the near future a spritz of high shine hair spray will help keep hair soft yet sparkling - we love this look.
