This week our beauty buff, is feeling the love. She's found The One, thinks doing it twice is rather nice, and a special package has her blissed out!
Last week I was telling you about the current make-up trend for a natural look. Now it's time to talk eyes. If you want to see the look I'm about to decribe in action, take a peek at the Instagram of Lancome's latest muse, Caroline de Maigret, as she really rocks it.
She's probably the chicest French woman you've never heard of, and now I'm obsessed with her, having met her in Paree, where she talked me through her collab.
She told me that mascara is her favourite make-up item, so there's a Limited Edition Grandiose Mascara, €30, in a burgundy shade, which instantly makes the irises look brighter.
Caroline said that when it comes to mascara, she never wears black, as she finds it too harsh, especially as we get older. Caroline's top tip for this mascara is to use it during the day on its own, or, at night, combine it with black mascara, but just on the tips of the lashes.
Also part of her collection is Le Crayon Khol in Chocolat Chaud, €20, which she mixed with Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Beige Mirage, €28. She mixed them on her hand, then applied it on to her eyelids - it looked so chic!
However, I still like a little black around my eyes, especially for photos or on TV, so I do a razor-thin line of black along my lashes with Max Factor's Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Eyeliner, €10.99.
The flat, paddle-shaped tip means I can do a very thin line to define my eyes, making me look more awake, or, at night, I can apply a thicker line.
It was my cousin Sinead O'Driscoll, a hairdresser in Lowertown in Schull, who reminded me how much better hair holds a blow-dry if you shampoo it twice, or even three times. This also depends on how often you wash your hair, and how much pollution and how many products your hair is exposed to, as over-washing will strip it of its essential oils.
Three special people weren't able to make my sister Anna's wedding day, including her late mother-in-law, our late sister Tricia, and our late dad. He's always with her, though. On her face, as she inherited his crazy eyebrows!
While everyone else I know is desperately trying to make their eyebrows look thicker, Anna is forever trying to tame hers! She had a HD Brow treatment done in Bellissimo in Galway, see bellissimo.ie, and the results were amazing.
I then gave her some Eylure Brow Tame & Define Wax, €8.49. It's a really durable, effective fixing wax that conditions, nourishes and helps to promote healthy hair growth, which she adored.
She looked amazing.
The kids are back in school! Better do some laundry, run errands . . . or get down to The Marker Hotel, see themarkerhoteldublin.com. They have just launched their amazing Marker Back to School spa packages for all the, em, tired mums out there, such as Kate Moss.
Simply select two treatments and indulge in 30 minutes of each - the total treatment time is one hour - for just €85. The treatments to choose from include a 30-minute back massage; an Indian head massage; a customised facial; or a Lava Shell treatment.
The award-winning Marker Spa & Wellness area includes a 23-metre long infinity pool, a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and relaxation area, right in the heart of Dublin's docklands - the perfect setting in which to unwind and be pampered silly.
Anna, my little sis, and her new hubby, Evan, first spotted each other in the Roisin Dubh pub in Galway. Anna was at UCG, and working as a waitress in a cocktail bar - I bet you're totally singing that song in your head now!
Anyhoo, Evan, the ole schmoothie, sent her a message on MySpace -remember that? - saying, "Hey, you're the barmaid from the Roisin; are you working on Friday night so you can serve me a pint, or are you off on Friday night so I can buy you a pint?"
Nine years later, they are newlyweds and continuing their journey in Toronto, Canada, as they've just moved there.
Continuing with my schmooth theme here, Benefit's new Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer, €29.50, smooths eyes to perfection, as it acts as a colour-corrector, cancelling out redness and pesky veins on the eyelids, as well as being an excellent base for eyeshadow; colour goes on more intensely, while lighter shades are enhanced.
The product's skin-friendly formula also contains SPF 20 and EnviroDefend technology, which helps to combat environmental stress, including pollutants, sun and smoke - so it's perfect for city living, be it Dublin, Cork or Toronto!
Still haven't found 'The One' when it comes to perfume? Then maybe you should check out Shiseido Ever Bloom, from €53, available now at Shiseido stockists, and nationwide from October.
This could be the signature scent you've always been looking for. Especially if, like me, you like a fresh and feminine fragrance, and are not one for those sickly sweet ones that seem to be so popular.
The musky white floral has made it onto my wrist every single day since I got it. In fact, I'm sniffing it right now, and absolutely McLovin it.
