What I Eat In A Day: UFC star Ronda Rousey
UFC star and Olympic bronze medalist Ronda Rousey is one of the toughest athletes in the world.
Come November it will be a year since the 29-year-old stepped into the UFC Octagon but that doesn't mean she's slacked on her diet and fitness regime. She trains like crazy, usually twice a day, and has managed to fit in an acting career alongside her sporting career. She's had roles in Entourage, Furious 7, The Expendables 3 and Patrick Swayze's Road House. And she's also a bona fide fashion star after landing a string of magazine shoots, including a Sports Illustrated cover in January, as well as fashion campaigns for Buffalo and Reebok.
The MMA fighter revealed to Stylecaster the secrets behind her strict fighter diet. She follows the Dolce Diet, a weight loss management programme for athletes that focuses on incorporating whole, nutrient-rich ingredients to maintain muscle mass and promote muscle revovery. The clean-eating diet was established by by MMA trainer Mike Dolce.
She told the
Ronda starts her day with coffee and a Dolce chia bowl, which includes two tablespoons of chia, hemp and oats with agave nectar, cinnamon, a couple of blueberries and a tablespoon of almond butter.
An egg scramble with vegetables including mushrooms, peppers, spinach, avocado, tomato - along with turkey bacon, Ezekiel bread, Kerrygold butter and cinnamon.
Turkey chilli using four ounces of turkey, chopped-up asparagus, red pepper, red onion, tomato, beans, chilli spices and cayenne pepper.
Honeycrips apples with cashews or red grapes with nuts.
