Actress and singer Jennifer Hudson was unrecognisable from her former curvaceous self as she performed at the series finale of The Voice in Los Angeles this week.

The Sex and the City 2 star has lost a jaw dropping 80 pounds since partnering with slimming giant Weight Watchers four years ago.

Since she first appeared on talent search American Idol in 2004, Hudson has dropped an impressive five dress sizes, going from a US size 16 to a 6.

The 33-year-old showed off her svelte physique on Tuesday night at the series seven finale of The Voice by donning a glossy black mini-dress, highlighting her long legs and ample cleavage.

More accustomed to walking a red carpet in Vera Wang ballgowns, performing at the Grammy Awards or autographing her new book about weight-loss, the Oscar-winning actress and singer's next public appearance won't be glamorous. The starlet will be under a whole different spotlight in April 2012 in Chicago when she is expected to attend the triple murder trial of the man accused of killing her mother, brother and nephew. Jennifer Hudson has shed over 80 lbs on Weight Watchers.

The Dreamgirls actress performed alongside finalist Damien Lawson,  accompanying him on a rendition of her new Grammy nominated single, It’s Your World.

Jennifer, who is currently engaged to her long term partner David Otunga, has stated on numerous occasions that her physical transformation was down to a lot of hard work and “taking care of herself”

“I make sure to watch what I put in my body. And I make sure I know what it is,” she previously told Yahoo Style.  “It’s all about portions, for the most part. I just take care of myself in that way, being more conscious. I don’t work out a lot, but I do like to be active. Simple as that.”

Jennifer signed up as a spokesperson for Weight Watchers in 2010, with the goal of losing weight she had put on while pregnant with her son David Jr.

In March this year, she announced would no longer be a spokesperson for the company.

“I have chosen to step away from my role as ambassador,” she stated. “My experience with Weight Watchers has truly been life changing. I am grateful for what I have learned throughout the process and will always take it with me."

The Chicago born star has also stated that she is happy with her figure and has no intention to lose anymore weight.

“I don’t want to lose any more weight, and you’re never going to see me skinny...I’m going to keep my curves. I love me,” she has said.
