'It's a huge deal': Rosanna Davison wants to land cover of Sports Illustrated
Former Miss World Rosanna Davison has already ticked appearing in Playboy off her list, but now she has her sights set on the pages of Sports Illustrated.
The 30-year-old told The Star that she would “definitely consider appearing” in the magazine that turned models like Emily Ratajkowski and Chrissy Teigen into household names.
“It’s a huge deal for any model to appear in it and some of the world’s top supermodels began their career in SI,” Rosanna added.
The most recent edition of the famous annual Swimsuit Edition stars Lily Aldridge, Caroline Wozniacki, Irina Shayk, Hannah Davis, and Rhonda Russey.
A spokesman for the popular magazine told The Star that the publication is more than willing to welcome an Irish model to grace their pages.
“Of course we would welcome any Irish model..to appear on the front cover of the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated,” he said speaking from New York.
Rosanna, who was crowned Miss World in 2003, is the only Irish woman to have ever featured in Playboy.
The Dubliner appeared in the magazine topless in 2012, stating that her family encouraged her to take the opportunity.
"It was my dad that said to me, 'No you should go for it, you're not going to be young forever and you might not want to do this in ten years, so now is the time'.
"He was really encouraging and he just said 'Look at all the women who've done it before you... you should be really proud'," she recently said.
"I'm happy that I had that level of support because I probably wouldn't have done it if I hadn't."
"Doing Playboy was so empowering, because I felt happy in my own skin, and baring my body like that forced me to face my own insecurities. I loved being naked for it."
"I also worked hard to get in shape for it, so I felt confident. The vast majority of women were extremely positive and supportive," she added.
