'I feel better in a bikini at 42 than I did 20 years ago' says Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow has shared some insight into her fitness and food regime.
The Oscar-winning actress (42) might be regularly slated for the outlandish prices and products on her lifestyle website, Goop, but she says she's a lot more down-to-earth than her public image might suggest.
The Iron Man star says that while she might start her day with a workout, she does the school run just like any other mum.
"My routine is the same every weekday,” she told the new issue of Women's Health, on which she features as the cover star. "I drop my kids at school. I do an hour of dance cardio and then I go to work."
"For lunch I usually have a big salad with grilled chicken, and then for dinner I’ll have whatever I want. Most nights I eat with the kids, like, a stir-fry of chicken and broccoli or pasta or roast chicken and potatoes."
Her regimented lifestyle appears to have paid off as Paltrow says she's more comfortable in her skin now than ever before.
"I feel way more comfortable in a bathing suit now than I did 20 years ago," she explained.
And she cleared up the rumour that her children aren't allowed certain foods, instead having to adhere to strict diets.
“My food philosophy is: Nothing should be ruled out. I don’t believe in saying, ‘You’re not allowed that.’ If my kids want a Shirley Temple with the radioactive cherry in it, go for it, you know?”
