Which means shorts, sleeveless tops and swimsuits - the ingredients of the perfect storm for the body conscious. Enter plus-size supermodel Ashley Graham who DGAF about her cellulite and makes the case why you shouldn't either.
While shooting for her new Swimsuits For All range in Los Angeles, a number of unflattering pictures of her were published in some tabloids and websites. Images of her pouting and posing with confidence along the streets of Hollywood, while showing off her swimsuit designs, were accompanied by phrases like "eye-popping figure" and "busty figure".
It wasn't in the headline, but the message was very much implied: "Woman has cellulite and has audacity to not force herself to live in a windowless basement for her crime."
So, what does Ashley do? She doesn't acknowledge the paparazzi pictures because, quite frankly, she doesn't need to and it also feeds into the narrative that a woman needs to explain herself for not fitting the cookie cutter mould.
Instead, she posted this picture on Instagram - with two other diverse models, including another curvy model and an older model, wearing the exact same swimsuit and looking sensational - cellulite and all.
She hasn't been shy about owning her figure and previously slammed body shamers by saying, "I workout [sic]. I do my best to eat well. I love the skin I'm in. And I'm not ashamed of a few lumps, bumps or cellulite... and you shouldn't be either."
