We met Sarah Lucero, the Global Director of Education and spokesperson for Stila Cosmetics and ate chips as we bonded over brows, beauty and Victoria Beckham.

Sarah's been with the brand for 15 years and her role has seen her travel the world, be involved backstage at fashion shows in New York and London, work with Victoria's Secret and preen A-list clients, such as Kim Kardashian and Victoria Beckham. Her involvement with product development saw her fly to Italy where she got to see first-hand the latest emerging trends in product formulas and packaging. Being part of this process led Sarah to help create Stila's new eyebrow product, Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Colour, €18. Great for anyone with sparse brows or that has lost hair, it will also stay on through the summer season.

Talking trends, Sarah has seen a lot of bright bold colours for lips, which she calls "pout pout loud mouth" and metallic textures on the eyes and cheeks. Her top tip for looking red carpet ready (or in our case it might be more like selfie ready), is to add a flash of metallic rose gold to the centre of the eyelids. Stila Kitten All Over Shimmer Powder, €19.90 is her fave for the way it reflects on camera.

On working with VB, Sarah says they go with "what works", usually playing up the eyes with a really feline shape. She's been rocking the smokey eye and nude lip combo like a pro for as long as we can remember, proving that if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Summer colour collection

YSL have nailed it with their Bleus Lumiere colour palette for Summer 2014.

All azure blue and glistening gold, it's seriously luxe. For an easy way to wear colour, sweep aquatic blue from the Collector Eye Palette (€49.50) along the lower lashline or two coats of La Laque Couture n°50 (€24) on the nails.

Star Trend: Festival hair

Festival season is upon us, but the odds aren't in our favour when it comes to the Irish weather. INSIDER got the low down from session stylist David Cashman.

Day 1

Enjoy your freshly washed hair, prep for the weekend ahead by braiding all your hair in loose large plaits, add some L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil (€14.99) to prevent frizz

Day 2

Release the plaits and shake your hair out. Add some L'Oreal #TXT Wave Creating Spray (€5.99) which is perfect for giving the hair matte textured waves and volume, think Kate Moss at Glasto.

Day 3

Your hair has seen better days, literally. You'll probably need a bit of dry shampoo, INSIDER recommends one from our blowout Vs budget. Grab some kirby grips and wrap, twist or roll hair up and away from your face, no need to be too neat. If you've got some flowers or feathers throw them in too, leaving you with nothing but perfect festival hair vibes!

Blow out:

Bumble and bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish – for instant fullness and texture, €30 for 120ml

Budget option:

Garnier Ultimate Blends Silky Smoother Dry Shampoo – soaks up grease without leaving any visible residue, €5.49 for 150ml
