Beautiful from head to toe

This week, I'm getting in touch with my inner recessionista and I'm resolving to give up face wipes. They simply aren't good enough at cleaning skin, and a dirty surface won't properly absorb moisturiser.

I'm also going to channel Cheryl Cole by using (the truly horribly named) Bumpits (€11.79, above, available from Boots and, which are self-gripping, leave-in hair inserts that create lots of volume. All I have to do is pull a section of my hair forward, tuck a Bumpit underneath it, and then smooth my hair back.

I'm also trying to improve my posture and give my feet a break, all the while working my glutes and legs with my new pair of Fitflops (from €79.95), aka the 'miracle shoe' that could cure heel, lower back and sciatica problems.

They've had a makeover and now come in clog and sandal designs, adorned with spangly studs and Anna Sui florals.

While they take a bit of getting used to, so far they're actually easier to walk in than regular flip-flops. I'm still not convinced about the workout, but a girl can dream.
