If you are looking for interiors inspiration and to fulfil your dream of a trend-led, cutting edge space, then house 2017 is where it’s at.
Taking place in Dublin’s RDS from 26th-28th May 2017, house 2017 is an unmissable celebration of interior design, a definitive showcase of world-class interiors with what’s best and what’s next in design.
Top architects and interior designers will take part in a series of talks on the house 2017 Inspiration Stage, offering smart design advice and savvy makeover tips.
Some of those in the lineup are Jo Hamilton, one of the UK’s leading interior designers, Dermot Bannon, the leading voice in Irish architectural design, Roisin Lafferty, founder and managing director of Kingston Lafferty Design, one of Ireland’s foremost interior architecture and design houses and Denise O’Connor of Optimise Design.
Over 150 market leading creative visionaries and design experts will share their inspiration and expertise. The calibre of exhibitors is second to none and will range from interior designers, furniture makers and suppliers, kitchen fit-out specialists, bathroom specialists, lighting experts, flooring providers, fabric suppliers, window providers, paint and wallpaper suppliers to home extension specialists and home accessory suppliers.
That’s a lot of quality exhibitors so we asked our speakers who their top, not to be missed picks are:
For Dermot Bannon, OD Design (stand E9) stands out; “I have loved Simon’s work for years, simple, well-crafted design where the joy is always in the details.”
“MRCB is my go-to shop for all things paint. There’s a huge range with some of the most exciting and trustworthy brands in Ireland and great for advice when you want to do something different” (stand A19).
If you need tiles, then Halo Tiles should not be missed (stand A34 ). According to Dermot; “They have a wonderful showroom and a great range and value in their flagship store in Camolin, which is worth a trip down plus great regional showrooms too.” Dermot has also worked with Kelly Design Ltd (stand A23).
For Jo Hamilton, she loves the selection of brands at O’Hagan Design (stand B8). She also thinks Bang & Olufsen (stand E2) is not to be missed; “I love sleek and contemporary design which is what Bang & Olufsen does best. They are real innovators in their field and bring sculptural design to the technical world.”
Jo loves colour and texture and for her, Zelouf & Bell (stand C2) have earned their reputation across the globe for quality workmanship and smart, cool design. “They have managed to incorporate my favourite things and roll them out into absolutely stunning designer pieces. Colour, texture and shape, that’s what successful design is all about — can’t wait to see, touch and feel.”
Roisin Lafferty is very impressed with The Hardwood Flooring Company (stand A14). According to Roisin; “They provide a range of top class, beautiful woods which you really cannot beat! I’m a huge fan of beautifully textured wooden floors, I think they can bring great depth to the design instantly.”
Ruthie Ashenhurst (stand F26) has a beautiful collection of really powerful, evocative pieces exploring human form and emotion. A stunning collection that makes huge impact in a design scheme. Roisin also loves Rug Art (stand D14) which has an amazing range of beautiful rugs many of which include really bright colours and dynamic patterns and textures.
Denise O’Connor is very impressed with Cillian Johnston (stand B12); “We're working with them on a project at the moment where they are making the kitchen and they have made the process so enjoyable both for us and the clients. All of their furniture is made by hand and to order and they deliver excellent customer service.

And lastly, Tilestyle (stand A2) for their extensive and stunning range of tiles from marble and natural stone to porcelain and ceramics. “Their sales team are extremely knowledgeable and wonderfully helpful.
