Ulster prop Declan Fitzpatrick to have further treatment for irregular heartbeat

Ulster prop Declan Fitzpatrick will face further precautionary tests in Belfast after treatment in Glasgow for an irregular heartbeat.

The 30-year-old tighthead suffered palpitations during Friday's RaboDirect PRO12 27-9 defeat at Glasgow, and was taken to hospital in the Scottish city.

Ulster confirmed a procedure to correct an irregular rhythm in Fitzpatrick's heart had been successful.

Bosses at the Northern Irish province are unsure how long Fitzpatrick will need in recovery.
