Stephen Frail takes up Northern Ireland role

Former Hearts interim boss Stephen Frail has taken up the position of manager of Northern Ireland's Under-17 and Under-19 teams.

The 47-year-old Scot, who turned out for Dundee and the Jambos during his playing days and recently worked as a development coach with Celtic, replaces the duo of Stephen Craigan and Damien Johnson after they elected to focus on their respective club positions at Motherwell and Blackburn.

"In Stephen Frail we have appointed a hugely experienced coach with a successful track record of identifying and developing talented young players," said senior boss Michael O'Neill.

"I have worked with him in the past and know how highly regarded he is in the game, especially in Scottish football."
