04 May: Theo Walcott struck his 20th goal of the season after 20 seconds as Arsenal beat relegated QPR 1-0 to help boost their chances of qualifying for the Champions League. Arsenal's quickest Premier League goal and the swiftest of the season secured Arsene Wenger's side a straightforward win.
30 April: Jose Mourinho has dropped the strongest hint yet that he will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season following their Champions League semi-final defeat to Borussia Dortmund. When asked if he would remain in the Spanish capital for next season, he replied: "Maybe not. I don't know, but I want to be where people love me to be. "I know in England I'm loved. I'm loved by the fans, I'm loved by the media that treats me in a fair way, criticising me but giving me credit when I deserve it."

21 April: Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic shows his arm to referee Kevin Friend after Liverpool's Luis Suarez apparently bit the defender's arm during their Premier League clash at Anfield. Suarez stayed on the pitch after the incident and then went on to score a late equaliser for the home side.
18 April: Bahrain police have made numerous arrests in a crackdown on protests ahead of Sunday's controversial Grand Prix. Watched by millions around the world, the Grand Prix is the biggest sporting event hosted on the island and the government is hoping for a healthy turnout at this year's race despite continuing violent unrest.

14 April: Manchester City's Sergio Aguero challenges Chelsea's David Luiz but no foul is awarded during the FA Cup, Semi Final at Wembley. Luiz has demanded an apology from Aguero after the Argentinian escaped punishment for the two-footed lunge in which he ran his studs down the back of the Brazilian's legs.

14 April: New Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio celebrates after Stephane Sessegnon scores his side's first goal of the game during the Barclays Premier League match at St James' Park. Sunderland beat their local rivals 3-0, recording their greatest victory in Tyneside for 34 years.
14 April: Dublin's Bernard Brogan in action against Mayo's Ger Cafferkey. The Dubs beat the Connacht side to set up a meeting with Mickey Harte's Tyrone in the final.

Arsene Wenger's side were a goal down to the visitors and looking certain for defeat until three quick goals in a five-minute spell at the end of the game ensured a surprise victory.

11 April: Mark Leishman recovered from a bogey five at the difficult opening hole to land seven birdies on the first day of the US Masters. The Australian ended the day top of the leaderboard with a polished 66.

09 April: Borussia Dortmund players celebrates victory over Malaga and a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The German side were trailing 2-1 and seemingly heading out of Europe when Marco Reus and then Felipe Santana grabbed 91st and 93rd-minute goals respectively to put them through 3-2 on aggregate after last Wednesday's goalless first leg.

06 April: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he wants Tomas Rosicky, to end his career with the Gunners after his two-goal blast at West Brom boosted their chances of securing a Champions League spot. Midfielder Rosicky struck in both halves of Arsenal's 2-1 win in what was only his second league start of the campaign.

02 April: Paolo Di Canio has been forced to defend himself against criticism of his political beliefs following his appointment as Sunderland manager. The Italian told Italian news agency ANSA in 2005 "I am a fascist, not a racist", and his appointment to succeed Martin O'Neill prompted former UK foreign secretary David Milliband to stand down as the club's vice-chairman and non-executive director.
31 March: Sunderland sacked manager Martin O'Neill as the club took drastic action to prevent relegation. Following their 1-0 defeat by Manchester United at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland are one point outside the relegation zone in 16th position.
