Yaya Toure returns to Manchester City team for match at Crystal Palace
Yaya Toure was set to make his first Premier League appearance this season after he was recalled to start for Manchester City at Crystal Palace.
The midfielder's only previous appearance since manager Pep Guardiola's appointment came in the Champions League on August 24 when City defeated Steaua Bucharest 1-0.
Toure's return to the first team comes shortly after he apologised to Guardiola for "misunderstandings of the past".
His agent Dimitri Seluk had been vocal in his criticism of the manager, accusing him of "humiliating" him by omitting him from City's Champions League squad. Toure was also sold by Barcelona to City when Guardiola was their manager.
The injury-prone Vincent Kompany was also selected to start for only the third time in the Premier League this season.
David Silva - who played for Spain during the international football break - was among Guardiola's substitutes, perhaps because City on Wednesday visit Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League. Victory would ensure their qualification for the knockout stages.
