We’ll leave it there so – RTE release montage of Bill’s last day in the job

The World Cup final marked not only the end of the football tournament, it also signified the end of RTE presenter Bill O’Herlihy’s broadcasting career.

The 75-year-old sports presenter completed his last live broadcast at the helm of the national broadcaster’s soccer panel on Sunday night after Germany clinched the World Cup title and RTE recorded his final day in office to create a touching montage.

From his arrival at Montrose to the World Cup after-party, it was all captured on video to mark the end of 49 distinguished years of broadcasting.
