Wales have included Ethan Ampadu, the teenage son of former Irish underage international Kwame, in their squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Ireland next month.

The 17-year-old midfielder, who made his first-team debut for Chelsea against Doncaster in the League Cup last week, is also qualified to play for Ireland, England and Ghana.

Wales manager Chris Coleman also included uncapped Sheffield United midfielder David Brooks and Preston goalkeeper Chris Maxwell in his squad.

Brooks has been called up after he switched allegiance from England.

Coleman defended Wales's policy of fast-tracking dual or multi-qualified players into his senior squad.

"We're not the only country that have one or two players with dual nationality and it's a feather in our cap that these players are coming to us ."
