WATCH: Dejan Lovren makes massive claim about his ability after Croatia reach World Cup final
Croatia defender Dejan Lovren has claimed that he is now 'one of the best defenders in the world' after helping lead his country to the final of the World Cup.
Lovren and his team-mates helped shackle England captain Harry Kane during last night's 2-1 extra time victory, and will now face France in Sunday's decider.
The Liverpool centre back has often come in for criticism for his performances - including after being substituted during the first half of a 4-1 loss to Spurs last season - but feels that after his displays in this year's World Cup and the Reds' run to the Champions League final, he deserves to be classed with the best.
"From my point of view, people said I had a difficult season but I don't agree with that," he told BeIN Sports after beating England.

"I took Liverpool to the final of the Champions League and now with my national team we are in the final. People should recognise that I am also one of the best defenders in the world and not just talk nonsense."
The proud Croatian said that team-mate Luka Modric deserves the Ballon d'Or if his side prevail against France this weekend and added that it will be a massive occasion for Croatia.
"People are crying, they are happy in our country - this is something historical for us," Lovren said.
